Gotcha Back in a 1990 Day

Quite the regal blue eyed mancat, huh? 

Brenner is this BeforeManCat's name--
Called this for Before Actor name Yul Brynner
And cuz this mancat has Siamese in him. On this day
Friday July 20, 1990, Tommy got a 12 week old kitten 
From a Dallas suburb's shelter: Operation Kindness
Which still operates today. Seems the kitten already been to
One home and they brought him back. When Tommy
saw the kitten--he snoozed while cage mates
Played around him. Tommy was about to leave, after
Spending a long time there--but the kitten. A lady
Said the kitten's name was Tiger--Tommy picked him up
and Tiger woke up. Tommy musta spelled good, cuz Tiger
Started licking Tommy's cheek. Even with that 
Pronouncement of love--Tommy said she had to 'sleep on it'
Well, the next morning, July 20th, Tommy called 
Operation Kindness to see if Tiger was still there--Heck,
The place had purt near just opened--and Tommy had been there 
When they were purt near ready to close. But the shelter lady said-
Another human lady fell in love with Tiger that morning--
And said she might come back for him--the shelter lady said 
Tommy had seen Tiger first, but couldn't really 'hold' him--
She told Tommy get to Operation Kindness PDQ--(huh?) 
And Tommy raced from her bungalow after tellin' the shelter:
"I'm comin' to get my cat!"
And the rest they say is history. 
Brenner forever waited for Tommy to put down a 
Warm, fresh basket of clean clothes to hop in to-
Then waited for Tommy to tip a glass so he could get
The last few drops of milk in Tommy's glass
Plus Brenner kept Tommy company as she drove
The 1400 miles roundtrip from 
Dallas to Iowa and back to Dallas again-
They were together til 2001 when  
Cancer beat down Brenner.  
Since Tommy loved her Brenner Bren alot--
And this long ago photo still makes smile--
I am so glad Tommy decided to go get her cat!  :)

Ten things that make me happy:
A. My family: Mommy, Daddy Peyton, Brother Earl Gray, Uncle MaxMaxx, Tommy and even sorta

ol' cranky sour puss, Perry! 




B. Friends. My new found friends in KittyBlogosphere Land--I just never knew, it would be this good!
C. My toys I like to haul around and to play fetch with Tommy
D. Coins. Find em and present em to Tommy. Freaks her out tho. Tommy thinks I'll swallow em. So  Tommy goes and  picks up any coin she may find. Hey, I'm careful. Humans
E. Fancy Feast Appetizers. Love this stuff. We holler when Tommy opens it.  Tommy, again being a complaining human, says she's paying more for less. So if we want more, we cats gotta get jobs...humans....
F. Windows. To watch birds as they dine at our feeders and wonder what if...? 

G. Fingers. Tommy's that is. When she pets me, I like to nibble her fingers and lick em. Tommy smiles.

H. Bowls. When left over ice cream or butter from veggies at the bottom--I like me some bowls!

I.  Surprises. When Tommy opens the door to the waterfall she stands under and sees me! I get happy when I surprise her, cuz Tommy just KNOWS she had shut her litter box door!

J. Prayers. I get happy to say my prayers to Him. Because if it weren't for Him, I wouldn't have all of YOU and this blessed life.

10 Honest things is a lot! Oh well, may as well get started. First the brag. Hmm. I feel I so deserve this award because I'm quite the cool, cute, cuddly (when I let Tommy hold me) ManCat--and I'm honest about my purr-sonality!

The 10 things:

1. 5 other cats live here. I ain't listing 10 things about each of them. Being honest.
2. When Tommy's in bed I like to sit right her pillow and stare at her. She wakes up and sees me and says "Baby Noir."
3. I like to sleep in the round, green cat bed. No other one--just this one.
4. Tommy has a bowl for each one of us. I get mad when I don't get the RIGHT bowl.
5. I like to mess with Tommy when I drop a toy at her feet. I just stare at her.
6. I like the sound my claw make on the shower door.
7. I like baked chicken.
8. I love taking care for the the 5 other cats that live here.
9. I'm glad Tommy is home tonight because we watch American Idol.
10. When I get tired of looking at Tommy in bed. I lean against her legs to sleep. She tells me I'm heavy.
