Tuxie Two Step Saturday

Edie and her Brother settle in on a special kind of Saturday Oh, you know them as Mommy and my Uncle MaxMaxx.
See, back on this day, March 14, 2006--Tommy had this
operation to fix a sick valve inside her heart. At home, waiting for Tommy to get home, were now Angels Sammy and Perry
When Tommy got done with the operation all the nurse humans said Tommy was the quickest human they ever saw who woke up!  The humans had to call over to find the doctor so they could get Tommy's tubey thing out of her throat. Anyway, all these years later, Tommy is doing fine and really believes when Sammy ran ran off to the Bridge in August 2006, he made sure Mommy, Uncle and Daddy Peyton got born. Because Tommy saw these itty bitty kitties playing by her apartment, 'round October, or so, and the week before Thanksgiving 2006, the trio moved in. I still don't think Perry ever forgave Tommy either, but Tommy says it was all meant to be. So on this 9th anniversary,
of Tommy having that operation to fix her heart all up
we are all together
being a family.
(even Mooch and Daddy Peyton
is still the ONLY one who likes her!)

Blue Eye TurnBack

Although yesterday we missed Meezer Day,
I wanted to make sure some
blue eyed kitties got seen,
and for me to see Tommy smile:

Brenner, on the left came,  from Operation Kindness, a no-kill shelter in DFW. A  little itty bitty kitty, who licked Tommy's cheek when she picked him up. Brenner was snoozing, and Tommy put him back. Confused, my human was on what to do, alas, she went home kitty-less. The first thing next morning, Tommy called the shelter, but they said somebody else saw the kitten, too the night before, but...the lady remembered Tommy, who saw the kitten first, and couldn't make promises, but the lady told Tommy, she oughta hurry up, just in case, and Tommy did.  The blue eyed kitty  got his name from a human actor named Yul Brynner. Heard tell this actor played the King of Siam in some movie.  This mancat's fave thing was to hop on top a basket of warm clothes, the second Tommy brought the basket in. Then he'd  take in the last few drops of milk at the bottom of Tommy's glass. Brenner ran off to the Bridge when cancer won the war in 2001.

The other kitty is Sammy, who was about 3 yrs old, when he wandered up on Tommy's BFF's  Iowa farm, just a couple weeks before Tommy was headed back for a visit. Where ever Sammy came from, those humans took all FOUR of his claws. On the there were other kitties to play with until Tommy showed up. So when time to head back to Dallas, Sammy--just curled in the car's  back seat, while Tommy drove and slept most of the way. And that first night?  Well, Brenner was in a cat hotel and would be picked up the next day--so it was just Tommy and Sammy after a 750 mile trip. Tired.  And ya know, what?  Sammy hopped up beside Tommy--and all was good.  Tommy was mesmerized with Sammy's deep sea blue eyes.  And his name?  Well, Say Si-Am, real fast a few times... :)   Renal failure got Sammy to go on the Bridge in August 2006...

Then in November 2006, three itty bitty kitties--two black n whites, and a ginger tabby found Tommy's apartment. They got their cute one,  and got Tommy  to let them move in. Their names became MaxMaxx, Edie (really Mommy!) and Peyton, and as humans say...
The rest is history.

And his name? From a movie title that Tommy can't recall its plot!
And do you see Brother Earl Gray?
Brother rests on said very
same living room ornament piano that I betcha
Angel Zigo still lays claim to, 'cause he had it first :)

Monday ManCat Christmas Memory

Perry--the cranky (not really) ol' sour puss who will always be the
true King Cat of our chateau d'chat. So hard to believe Perry has watched over us from Heaven since 2010.  Eventho our house is filled with lotsa purrs (mine are loudest!) and hisses (Ms. She-bad Mooch), there still is certain kind of quiet. Tommy says I remind her most of Perry.  I'm big like Perry was, before he got sick--and how I make sure I cuddle close to Tommy at night. I hog a pillow just like Perry did too. This talk makes my whiskers tickle which makes me wanna do do two things:
First to show a photo, from 2009, how Perry and ME did get along--kinda.

And the other is Tommy's re-telling of  Perry's adventure with jolly ol' St. Nick. Let's just say Tommy has YET to attempt the same yuletide action with any of us. 'cause, I mean, how can you when:

Perry: The Cat Who Beat Up Santa Claus....

Tis the time of year Tommy’s re-tells the story about a Christmas long ago—in 2001 (way before my  Mommy was even born!)-when Tommy wanted to get pictures made with her kitties and Santa Claus. Tommy had a snowshoe Siamese Sammy and 5 ½ month old orange itty but not so bitty tabby kitty Perry then. The kitties gave Tommy so much comfort and joy since Tommy’s daddy went to Heaven in October that year, and just a month later so did Siamese tabby mix before kitty Brenner. He had cancer. So Sammy and Perry made Tommy smile.
And Tommy thought a picture with Santa would make a lot of smiles.
**On a Saturday afternoon, Tommy packed up Perry and headed to PetsMart to get in line for Santa. She decided to take one kitty at a time. Would be easier she thought. While Tommy and Perry waited, there were other kitties there looking for fur-ever homes. Tommy kinda wanted to get one—so she could have three. But Tommy never had THAT many kitties before! In about 5 years she’d know how that felt….anymew. Tommy and Perry waited as a big black puppy got his turn with Santa. The puppy was sweet and barked just once. Got his picture made and all was good.
**Tommy says you could almost say she glowed.  She loved her some Perry, who had quite the personality. Tommy couldn’t wait for the picture and was happy when Santa motioned them up. Tommy held Perry, in her hands, by this time, and he just meowed a couple times. Nothing major, Tommy thought.
**So Tommy says to Santa, “This is Perry.” Santa is jolly and says, “Well, hello Perry” and starts to take Perry out of Tommy’s arms.
**Wrong move, Ol’ St. Nick.
**The next thing, Tommy says, is you heard Perry screamin’ and hissin’ and saw his orange arms just flyin’! Tommy still had a hold of Perry, who had a hold of Santa and Santa’s glasses were coming off his face. Somehow, Tommy held Perry. Peeled him off of Santa and got him in the carrier.
**The carrier rocked to and fro with Perry still screamin’. Tommy says her she knows her eyes were as wide as all get out. She stared at Santa whose glasses were crooked. When Santa took the glasses off, there was blood above his eyebrow and then Tommy saw blood from Santa's temple. The she saw the blood drops in Santa’s white beard. Tommy was in shock. Didn’t know what to do. The only thing out of her mouth was:
**“He’s had his shots.”
**Then Tommy started apologizin’. She didn’t know if the police were gonna come and haul off her and Perry. Who would bail them out of the pound? Everybody in the store just stopped and stared. Tommy just apologized over and over. Perry finally got quiet. I guess he had to catch his breath. Mrs. Claus came over and said to Santa: “He got you pretty good.” She left for a few minutes and came back with a first aid kit.
**Tommy just stood there as Mrs. Claus put stuff on Santa's wounds. Santa said, “Oh, it’s all right. He was scared.” Tommy apologized for the millionth time and declined Santa’s to try again. Instead Tommy chose to walk fast, yet tread lightly out of PetsMart just in case the police DID come.
**Once out in the parking lot, two ladies were walking puppies that wanted furr-ever homes. One of em looked at Tommy and asked, “You the one with the cat that tore up Santa?”
**Tommy was embarrassed and nodded.  Then the lady started laughing. The lady walking a puppy came up and was told, “Yea, this is her.” That lady started laughing. Tommy says she had to laugh too. The first lady said, “Well, if Santa is gonna pose with animals, something like this might happen. Ya know, he had the dog right before. That probably spooked him. ”  The first lady wanted to see Perry.  So when Tommy opened the carrier, the first lady, said **"Yea, you look like a fighter!"  And laughed more. They all did.
**Tommy realizes the lady could be right. She still felt bad. The first lady says, “Ya know, that was funny. You heard that cat through the store. Santa knows the perils."
** Tommy took Perry home. Sammy never even got the chance to get a picture with Santa. Tommy said no more. Not gonna risk it.
**And no police ever did show up.
**The first time I heard Tommy tell the story, Perry sat close with his ears back. I later got enough nerve to ask him what was he thinking the day he beat up Santa Claus. Perry didn’t want to answer then he realized I wasn’t gonna stop buggin' him.  Perry’s answer?
**The cranky ol sour puss now a feisty feline in Heaven said he went ballistic cuz he didn’t know who Santa WAS! Yep. All the 5 ½ month old Perry saw was a big ol’ stranger in a red suit, with big belly and a bunch white hair and beard. The black puppy getting his picture made before him didn’t scare Perry---SANTA DID.
** Tommy's never taken any of us to het pictures with Santa. She says her heart just couldn't take it.  Hey, I'd be good.  I wouldn't beat up nobody. Except--well, I would maybe hiss a time or two, to show how ferocious I can be
**And just in Perry's memory. who is still our
**King of this house and watches over this house-would smile on that!
Sammy and Perry One
Two of  Tommy's smiles..
(Which make ME still smile today! )

Thru the Screen ManCat Monday

Can you see?
Tommy calls him Syrus the Siamese and NO
He is not movin' in--Tommy is stickin' to
That story!  Tommy has seen Syrus being
Held by the kids a few doors down----
Now, he slides over here and slides out of
Our shed (sound like anybody?) every now and then
And last year, right before Mooch barged in-
Tommy spotted Syrus and Mooch on the roof of a neighbor's shed
They would be hid by branches--yet Tommy saw them.
Always figured he was Mooch's boyfriend, however
Mooch doesn't seen to pine for him--and Syrus
Doesn't even run toward Tommy to be friendly--
In the meantime, Syrus does run toward the eats...

Gotcha Back in a 1990 Day

Quite the regal blue eyed mancat, huh?
Brenner is this BeforeManCat's name--
Called this for Before Actor name Yul Brynner
And cuz this mancat has Siamese in him. On this day
Friday July 20, 1990, Tommy got a 12 week old kitten
From a Dallas suburb's shelter: Operation Kindness
Which still operates today. Seems the kitten already been to
One home and they brought him back. When Tommy
saw the kitten--he snoozed while cage mates
Played around him. Tommy was about to leave, after
Spending a long time there--but the kitten. A lady
Said the kitten's name was Tiger--Tommy picked him up
and Tiger woke up. Tommy musta spelled good, cuz Tiger
Started licking Tommy's cheek. Even with that
Pronouncement of love--Tommy said she had to 'sleep on it'
Well, the next morning, July 20th, Tommy called
Operation Kindness to see if Tiger was still there--Heck,
The place had purt near just opened--and Tommy had been there
When they were purt near ready to close. But the shelter lady said-
Another human lady fell in love with Tiger that morning--
And said she might come back for him--the shelter lady said
Tommy had seen Tiger first, but couldn't really 'hold' him--
She told Tommy get to Operation Kindness PDQ--(huh?)
And Tommy raced from her bungalow after tellin' the shelter:
"I'm comin' to get my cat!"
And the rest they say is history.
Brenner forever waited for Tommy to put down a
Warm, fresh basket of clean clothes to hop in to-
Then waited for Tommy to tip a glass so he could get
The last few drops of milk in Tommy's glass
Plus Brenner kept Tommy company as she drove
The 1400 miles roundtrip from
Dallas to Iowa and back to Dallas again-
They were together til 2001 when
Cancer beat down Brenner.
Since Tommy loved her Brenner Bren alot--
And this long ago photo still makes smile--
I am so glad Tommy decided to go get her cat!  :)

ManCat Monday Memory

Get this.  Tommy comes home and
I gotta tell her how she messed up on her
"You are a cat, so my life revolves around you' duties
By not posting the photo I planned for ManCat Monday--
Tommy left the house this morn, without finishing said duty
And locked the PC so I couldn't do it-My human is such a
Scardey cat I'll over do ordering stuff for my Kindle...
Anymew,  I still wanted Tommy to post a photo-
A photo that gives a hint of what Tommy would
Need to do to make up for this morning's faux pas:
Younger cranky sour puss Perry and Sweet Sammy
Two Before kitties aiming for
Last licks of ice cream
At the bottom of the bowl....
Tommy so better get the hint!

Saturday Strange (r)

Hey everybody!  Haven't been 'round a couple days--
Blame Tommy.  Yep.  Blame her.
Spendin' too much time, Tommy has, tryin' to
Figure out a hi-falutin' cell phone she got-
Called a "Smartphone".
Really? Do humans really need to be able to do
Power point on their phone?  Does a cell phone
Do something impressive--like feed ME?
Hmm.
Anymew, Tommy forces me into a photo op and
Then peeks outside and sees:
Seen this blue eyed monster before
I do think he does live next door-
Ol Blue Eyes needs to stay there
...and take Tommy's phone with him....

Friday Ago Memory

Tommy said Socks went to Heaven today. He lived in that big White House where the family who lives there now, want a dog. Tommy smiled when she saw Socks' picture and said how Socks probably had so much fun in that big White House. And Socks feels so much better now that's he's in Heaven.

When Tommy looked through her pictures, I saw one of Cranky Ol Sour Puss Perry, who didn't look much like a sour puss but looked kinda nice--with a Siamese.

That Siamese musta known something we don't know. Perry doesn't curl up with us at all! Oh well. Tommy says the Snow Shoe Siamese is Sammy. Renal failure finally took him. Tommy said Sammy cradled his head under her chin as she talked to him until Sammy went to sleep. Tommy says memories of Socks will be forever with his families. Just like Sammy is with Tommy.

New memories, started three months after Sammy went to Heaven, Tommy says. That's when Mommy, Daddy Peyton and Uncle MaxMaxx virtually showed up at her door step and moved in.

That musta have been with Perry turned into a cranky ol sour puss. Hmm. Come to think about it, maybe Perry still has his own Sammy memories too?
I'll try to be nicer.
Don't tell Perry.
