Tuxie Two Step Saturday

Edie and her Brother settle in on a special kind of Saturday Oh, you know them as Mommy and my Uncle MaxMaxx.
See, back on this day, March 14, 2006--Tommy had this
operation to fix a sick valve inside her heart. At home, waiting for Tommy to get home, were now Angels Sammy and Perry
When Tommy got done with the operation all the nurse humans said Tommy was the quickest human they ever saw who woke up!  The humans had to call over to find the doctor so they could get Tommy's tubey thing out of her throat. Anyway, all these years later, Tommy is doing fine and really believes when Sammy ran ran off to the Bridge in August 2006, he made sure Mommy, Uncle and Daddy Peyton got born. Because Tommy saw these itty bitty kitties playing by her apartment, 'round October, or so, and the week before Thanksgiving 2006, the trio moved in. I still don't think Perry ever forgave Tommy either, but Tommy says it was all meant to be. So on this 9th anniversary,
of Tommy having that operation to fix her heart all up
we are all together
being a family.
(even Mooch and Daddy Peyton
is still the ONLY one who likes her!)

Friday Face Felines

....and on this Friday, Tommy is staying home today-
I mean how can my human turn down this trio
('specially the excitement from Uncle Max Maxx)?
Well, of course she can't but
Tommy says March 14 is also a celebration day.
 It's not MY birthday---nor Tommy's....hmmm..
Seems 8 years ago, Tommy took a nap while some
human doctors opened up her chest to fix
her heart to replace a valve Tommy didn't even
know she had-
And my human came thru with flying whiskers!
So Tommy celebrates this day with more bounce in
her step--because she can.
(and I'll help! I am cat and that's what I do.)

Thankful Thursday

ME!
Tommy stayed home with us today-
She said it was sorta of an anniversary for her.
There was no parade, no special sales or catnip anywhere
So I wasn't so sure what Tommy was talking about-
Then Tommy tells me today is special to her cuz
7 years ago today, open-heart surgery was
Done on Tommy when v-e-t-s for humans
Really went inside Tommy's heart to replace
Her mitral (which I had to Google) valve
While Tommy cat nap'd the whole time!
And since all that happened 7 years ago,
I get to do an "eye to an eye" pose with Tommy now...
Thankful, indeed.

Saturday Story

Cranky Ol Sour Puss Perry told us a story today about Tommy. He said she was probably out doing more happy dances like she does on Fridays. I try to ignore Perry--but he had all of wondering what in the world he talked about. Perry is usual so full of hot air. Cranky and old and all.

Well, this time Perry told us how 3 years ago--way before any of moved in (and he said when he was happier) Tommy was real sick. So sick her vet put her in the hospital. Our ears perked up.

"What? Our Tommy?"

Turns out Tommy's vet had to operate on her heart, Perry said. Something about some valve had to be replaced. She was gone for 3 weeks. Perry and Sammy didn't know where Tommy was. Like one morning she fed them, left for work and didn't come home. A strange girl human came to feed them and clean their box. She was nice, but where was Tommy?

Perry said how Sammy and him were scared.

Then one day, they heard the door open and heard their names. TOMMY! Perry said he meowed and crawled all over her. For the first two weeks, Tommy slept on the couch, because of not being too strong to climb the stairs. Perry and Sammy never left her side.

Perry said today, March 14, is the anniversary of Tommy's operation. So he knew Tommy was out having a good time. To show how having a little heart operation doesn't stop nothing! Perry said, Sammy stuck around for a a few more months, until he knew Tommy would for sure be OK. That's when Sammy went to Heaven. In Tommy's arms.

Hmm. Perry still takes care of Tommy. He makes sure she's still OK. Maybe he isn't so cranky after all.
Us not leaving any room for Tommy"ll.
