Tabby Terrific Memory on Christmas Eve 2014

Ya know, the re-telling of this epic adventure was in order.  :)  I posted this last Christmas, which actually was re-post from another Christmas.  The story makes Tommy smile, and all of our whiskers tickle. Just makes us feel closer to the real King of our household, who I am sure is going between the laps of Tommy's Mommy and Daddy in Heaven. So grab a coffee or some catnip and re-again for the first time and hope you enjoy!  MERRY CHRISTMAS!!

Perry--the cranky (not really) ol' sour puss who will always be the true King Cat of our chateau d'chat. So hard to believe Perry has watched over us from Heaven since 2010.  Eventho our house is filled with lotsa purrs( mine are loudest!) and hisses (Ms. She-bad Mooch), there still is certain kind of quiet. Tommy says I remind her most of Perry.  I'm big like Perry was, before he got sick--and how I make sure I cuddle close to Tommy at night. I hog a pillow just like Perry did too. This talk makes my whiskers tickle which makes me wanna do do two things:  First to show a photo, from 2009, how Perry and ME did get along--kinda.
And the other is Tommy's re-telling of  the Perry and jolly ol' St. Nick Notorious. Let's just say, Tommy has YET to attempt the same yuletide action with any of us. 'cause, I mean, how can you when you hear about:

Perry: The Cat Who Beat Up Santa Claus....

Tis the time of year Tommy’s re-tells the story about a Christmas long ago—in 2001 (way before my  Mommy was even born!)-when Tommy wanted to get pictures made with her kitties and Santa Claus. Tommy had a snowshoe Siamese Sammy and 5 ½ month old orange itty but not so bitty tabby kitty Perry then. The kitties gave Tommy so much comfort and joy since Tommy’s daddy went to Heaven in October that year, and just a month later so did Siamese tabby mix before kitty Brenner. He had cancer. So Sammy and Perry made Tommy smile.
And Tommy thought a picture with Santa would make a lot of smiles.
**On a Saturday afternoon, Tommy packed up Perry and headed to PetsMart to get in line for Santa. She decided to take one kitty at a time. Would be easier she thought. While Tommy and Perry waited, there were other kitties there looking for fur-ever homes. Tommy kinda wanted to get one—so she could have three. But Tommy never had THAT many kitties before! In about 5 years she’d know how that felt….anymew. Tommy and Perry waited as a big black puppy got his turn with Santa. The puppy was sweet and barked just once. Got his picture made and all was good.

*Tommy says you could almost say she glowed.  She loved her some Perry, who had quite the personality. Tommy couldn’t wait for the picture and was happy when Santa motioned them up. By this time Tommy held Perry, in her hands. He  just meowed a couple times. Nothing major, Tommy thought.

**So Tommy says to Santa, “This is Perry.” Santa is jolly and says, “Well, hello Perry” and starts to take Perry out of Tommy’s arms.
*Wrong move, Ol’ St. Nick.
**The next thing, Tommy says, is you heard Perry screamin’ and hissin’ and saw his orange arms just flyin’! Tommy still had a hold of Perry, who had a hold of Santa and Santa’s glasses were coming off his face. Somehow, Tommy held Perry. Peeled him off of Santa and got him in the carrier.

**The carrier rocked to and fro with Perry still screamin’. Tommy says her she knows her eyes were as wide as all get out. She stared at Santa whose glasses were crooked. When Santa took the glasses off, there was blood above his eyebrow and then Tommy saw blood from Santa's temple. The she saw the blood drops in Santa’s white beard. Tommy was in shock. Didn’t know what to do. The only thing out of her mouth was:
**“He’s had his shots.”

**Then Tommy started apologizin’. She didn’t know if the police were gonna come and haul off her and Perry. Who would bail them out of the pound? Everybody in the store just stopped and stared. Tommy just apologized over and over. Perry finally got quiet. I guess he had to catch his breath. Mrs. Claus came over and said to Santa: “He got you pretty good.” She left for a few minutes and came back with a first aid kit.

**Tommy just stood there as Mrs. Claus put stuff on Santa's wounds. Santa said, “Oh, it’s all right. He was scared.” Tommy apologized for the millionth time and declined Santa’s to try again. Instead Tommy chose to walk fast, yet tread lightly out of PetsMart just in case the police DID come.
**Once out in the parking lot, two ladies were walking puppies that wanted furr-ever homes. One of em looked at Tommy and asked, “You the one with the cat that tore up Santa?”

*Tommy was embarrassed and nodded.  Then the lady started laughing. The lady walking a puppy came up and was told, “Yea, this is her.” That lady started laughing. Tommy says she had to laugh too. The first lady said, “Well, if Santa is gonna pose with animals, something like this might happen. Ya know, he had the dog right before. That probably spooked him. ”  The first lady wanted to see Perry.  So when Tommy opened the carrier, the first lady, said **"Yea, you look like a fighter!"  And laughed more. They all did. **Tommy realizes the lady could be right. She still felt bad. The first lady says, “Ya know, that was funny. You heard that cat through the store. Santa knows the perils."
** Tommy took Perry home. Sammy never even got the chance to get a picture with Santa. Tommy said no more. Not gonna risk it.

**And no police ever did show up. *The first time I heard Tommy tell the story, Perry sat close with his ears back. I later got enough nerve to ask him what was he thinking the day he beat up Santa Claus. Perry didn’t want to answer then he realized I wasn’t gonna stop buggin' him.  Perry’s answer?
**The cranky ol sour puss now a feisty feline in Heaven said he went ballistic cuz he didn’t know who Santa WAS! Yep. All the 5 ½ month old Perry saw was a big ol’ stranger in a red suit, with big belly and a bunch white hair and beard. The black puppy getting his picture made before him didn’t scare Perry---SANTA DID.

** Tommy's never taken any of us to het pictures with Santa. She says her heart just couldn't take it.  Hey, I'd be good.  I wouldn't beat up nobody. Except--well, I would maybe hiss a time or two, to show how ferocious I can be and just in Perry's memory. who is still our King of this house and watches over us-would smile on that!

Memory ManCat Monday

As I sat on the desk while Tommy looked
at photos from once upon a time-
My whiskers tickled and Tommy smiled
When we spotted this:
Mommy and the household's Orange-y GingerBoys
From the Summer of 2009
Daddy Peyton takes up the middle while
Angel Cranky Ol' Sourpuss Perry is up front.
Seems like each one has sights on something different!

An Orange Tabby Christmas Tale

With Christmas being just 'round the bend, I purred real loud to get  Tommy to re-post this, from 2010, this oh so true story from a Yuletide past!  Still makes my whiskers tickle and Tommy smile. So Merry Christmas indeed!

Friday Feline Flashback

In 2010, on this very day, Perry, the cranky ol' sour puss, who was
So King of our savanna, went to Heaven.
I gotta admit, it took awhile for all our
Purrs and Tommy's laughter to be full throttle again.
We hung in there tho. Together.
Even with the bunch of us, Tommy says the house was
Still sorta quiet without her Perry One-
Then little by little we got back into a rhythm
Photos made my whiskers tickle again:
Me and His Royal Crankiness kinda gettin' along. In the little photo
Perry gives me 'the eye'
I think that one of them times when Angel Cat Perry
Roamed the house, and air jabbed Uncle MaxMaxx
For ol' times sake, Perry decided it was time our rhythm
Needed an extra beat and I swear Perry sent us:
In the little photo, it's ME givin' Mooch 'the eye' and show some fang.
I betcha Perry wanted us to feel like he felt when Tommy let
Uncle MaxMaxx, Mommy and Daddy Peyton move in
When they were itty bitty kitties and then when
ME and my sibs were born-yea, Perry thought his kingdom invaded
So the King sent an evil  Princess to keep charge over the savannah...
--And I would not have it any other way!--

ManCat Monday Memory

On the 4th of July-we celebrate the birthday
Our Grumpy Ol' Sour puss Perry--
Who ran to the Rainbow Bridge in  2010,
Which was a little too darn early for us-
With his birthday just round the bend, I looked thru
Photos would make Tommy (and me)  smile-so:
Perry
With a little show of his
Ginger orange-y  independence...
A true mancat if there ever was one!

ManCat Memory on Monday

Mommy and Perry
I still so love this photo from
Spring time April 2009--
Mommy gives a look to our
Late, great cranky ol' loving sour puss Perry!
Just kinda says it all, huh?

Wordless Wednesday

Perry has been gone a whole year today-
Yep, I know His Royal Cranky-ness is
Rompin' and wreckin' havoc on Heaven's Bridge
And Perry is feelin' the best he's felt
In a long time--but I gotta be honest
I hope Perry is lookin' down on  us--
Makin' sure we are OK--just like
He does with Mommy:

As they checked out the the world-
In this April 2009 memory
ME amd Tommy still chuckle how
Mommy is being all wordless at Perry...
And I pray Perry thinks I'm doing a good job takin' care of Tommy!

Sunday Still Remembrance

In our house we still remember the out pour of prayers, purrs and love we received from the Cat Blogosphere, when Perry (the Cranky Ol Sour Puss) went to Heaven last October. Although we laugh and play, there's still something  missin' round here.  Like Uncle MaxMaxx's favorite paw jab partner, or Mommy's favorite hissing target when Perry would even walk toward her babies, even tho  we were full grown. With ME and Brother Earl Gray, Perry would call us "kids" and out cat nip us with any of the 'nip toys. I miss him jumpin' so high and then dashing off--like he was younger than us or something'!

And there was Tommy.  Perry struck his claim with her. Nobody--and I mean NOBODY could have his place on the pillow by Tommy. Nope. That was his spot, and Tommy's face and her forehead were only his to pet--with his claws out at times. Then there is my Daddy Peyton. He misses Perry more than he says.  Yes, he does. Daddy loved Perry and Perry only really got on good with Daddy.
Sometimes I think Perry got tired of Daddy, but Daddy was the only one that could curl up to Perry. Maybe it was the orange and ginger tabby thing. In fact, the night before Perry went to Heaven, Perry was curled in a cat bed, and Daddy was curled right beside him. Tommy got a picture of it and then Tommy cried.

So on this Remembrance Weekend, we smile at all our friends who  get to play with out King of Our Jungle, Perry at the Rainbow Bridge. He's not really cranky--and I bet they know that by now.  We miss our Perry One.

As for Tommy's pillow, I now take the other side. Perry will always have his spot.  I have the other side. So when Tommy wakes up in the middle of the night--she's knows we're both there. I don't pet her face, like Perry did. Nope. I kiss Tommy's fingers before I bite them.

So if you 'cuse me. There's still some Sunday left.  I wanna let Tommy know
All is good and
We can still be easy as this day inches to a close
And all is in love
Perry would want it to be so....

Weekend of Remembrance is really everyday...

A Weekend Snuggle Past

Hello everybody!
Was gonna type 'bout Tommy snorin'  loud-
Just like one of them lumberjack chain saws-
And how she woke up and couldn't move
Cuz Uncle MaxMaxx was glued to her side.
He's like a 10 ton fur brick when he snoozes....
Alas no. As Tommy slept I decided to surprise her
With Saturday's post from a past Spring Weekend...
See all 6 of us?
Cranky Ol' Perry--now the Feisty Feline in Heaven
Is in the photo. I guess he really did like us.
This will make Tommy smile-
And I like that...
Enjoy Saturday!

Brother Earl Gray's Tabby Talk

WOW! My big brother Noir (by a few hours) let me talk on his blog again--
I told Noir I wanted to say something' about Perry.
See, I don't why Brother says Perry was cranky, cuz he really wasn't.
We never had any tussles really. I mean, yea OK, once I tried
Show how grown up I was--and Perry bopped me on the head a few times...
So from then on, if Perry just raised his eye lid a bit-
I knew just to be cool, like him.
We really got along, me and Perry. Not really close, close like him and Dad-
But we got along.
More so than Perry and Noir...or so Noir would have you think.
Yep, it's still kinda lonesome around here
But we're doing better. I was glad Tommy got this picture of
Perry and Me from April this year..
Noir can't understand WHY I would be OK in a picture with Perry..
Why?
Cuz the Perry was just one cool cat!
...and that's how I wanna roll!

Perry Passes

Perry
July 4, 2001- October 5, 2010

Perry took a turn for the very worse during the night--
I wondered if he would make it to the vet this morn-
I dropped him off at 7am, like I said I would.
By 2:45 Perry was gone. They gave Perry fluids, antibiotics and nothing..
They were going to unhook him and bring him to me--
Perry passed just before they could. I think he didn't want me to
See him like that. Yet, Perry waited until I came to get him to finally rest.
The vet said jaundice showed up today. The infection just took over
Perry's body, eventho his heart was strong, yet not strong enough.
The vet even said Perry was a fighter.
Yes, he was.
When I saw him, Perry looked like he was sleeping..
I told the vet, Perry will rest by a flowering tree---
Where he can get a first hand view of feating birds .
THANK YOU everyone for being there--
Your words of support and prayers mean more than you know...
I thank God for letting Perry find me that October 2001 day
When He knew I was sad because I just buried my dad
I always considered Perry the last present my dad gave me--
And a present he will always be. He was My One.
I am blessed.

***It's Wednesday Morning as I write this. We made it thru the first night without Perry. It's funny, Noir has taken his roll of  Heir Apparent quite literal. He is a younger Perry in a lot of ways--of not leaving my side and glued to my hip during the night. He just looks more grown up. Edie (aka Mommy) just rubbed against me and even MaxMaxx tried to be a baby kitten with his wide load self. Earl Gray meowed and tried to get in my lap.  They all loved on me. Looking at Peyton, who's a ginger tabby is hardest--he reminds me of Perry and I almost called him that when he came into a room. He was the only one who really bonded with Perry--and when I looked into his soft eyes, I saw the sorrow.  We made it through.

Words cannot express how all of have made me feel. And to think I thought the internet was fad. With it, I would not have all of you.  Thank you again--so much!

Monday Groan Mancat...ME

First of all it's kinda late on a Monday to post
And I wanted to post about ME
Then Tommy says "You need to show Perry."
Why?
Because, Tommy says, all of our friends new and old wished him well.
I thought they were MY friends...hmm.
Tommy says I can talk tomorrow-that's what she said bout today!
Anyway I've been talking to Perry about him being in Cell Block Feline.
In the meantime, this is Cranky Ol Puss about an hour ago
He was being all attentive to Tommy. Ears all up...
Whatever.

Tommy better be happy....I'm not!

Sunday Advice Taken Told by Tommy

Hello everyone! It's about 10:30PM Dallas time Sunday night as I write this. Just wanted to give you an update from my cat filled and cluttered house, especially about Perry.
My "One" (his nickname since he was a baby) seems to be doing OK. I give him the antibiotics without too much trouble with the syringe. He has started to run from me tho. I've been reading up on UTI's and says a kitty hold it all in because the potty box isn't to his liking. So I've been clearning that, plus reading food cans and bags.

I figure things must be a bit better, Noir popped Perry on the head and Perry hissed. I've been giving extra special love to Perry. Makes me smile when Perry brushes his nose against my cheek. He's been doing that since the first day he decided to stay with me. I knew then, like I know now, I'm the lucky one.

So on this Sunday I took my own kitty's advice and stayed away from the PC until now. As I type this Perry is right by the monitor with his eyes shut. I've given him his nightly medicine and tried to get away! Yet, here he is. I"ll say good night for now and Thank YOU again everyone for your well wishes.

PS. For ManCat Monday Noir tells me he wants to be back. He's afraid everybody  will forget him--ahh Noir--I guess I need to do some extra lovin' on him too. The cat likes it like that.
