Mooch.
Look at her Royal she-badness-
Can you see the colors in Mooch's furs?
What don't I have colors like that in MY furrs?
When I look at Mooch I think her
hard Head is too big for her body.
Mommy pops me on MY head for sayin' that!
She says Mooch is a growing girlcat-
And Mooch will grow into all her parts
Just like I had to....once upon a time...
Hmm. My ears were NEVER that big!

Gotcha Back in a 1990 Day

Quite the regal blue eyed mancat, huh?
Brenner is this BeforeManCat's name--
Called this for Before Actor name Yul Brynner
And cuz this mancat has Siamese in him. On this day
Friday July 20, 1990, Tommy got a 12 week old kitten
From a Dallas suburb's shelter: Operation Kindness
Which still operates today. Seems the kitten already been to
One home and they brought him back. When Tommy
saw the kitten--he snoozed while cage mates
Played around him. Tommy was about to leave, after
Spending a long time there--but the kitten. A lady
Said the kitten's name was Tiger--Tommy picked him up
and Tiger woke up. Tommy musta spelled good, cuz Tiger
Started licking Tommy's cheek. Even with that
Pronouncement of love--Tommy said she had to 'sleep on it'
Well, the next morning, July 20th, Tommy called
Operation Kindness to see if Tiger was still there--Heck,
The place had purt near just opened--and Tommy had been there
When they were purt near ready to close. But the shelter lady said-
Another human lady fell in love with Tiger that morning--
And said she might come back for him--the shelter lady said
Tommy had seen Tiger first, but couldn't really 'hold' him--
She told Tommy get to Operation Kindness PDQ--(huh?)
And Tommy raced from her bungalow after tellin' the shelter:
"I'm comin' to get my cat!"
And the rest they say is history.
Brenner forever waited for Tommy to put down a
Warm, fresh basket of clean clothes to hop in to-
Then waited for Tommy to tip a glass so he could get
The last few drops of milk in Tommy's glass
Plus Brenner kept Tommy company as she drove
The 1400 miles roundtrip from
Dallas to Iowa and back to Dallas again-
They were together til 2001 when
Cancer beat down Brenner.
Since Tommy loved her Brenner Bren alot--
And this long ago photo still makes smile--
I am so glad Tommy decided to go get her cat!  :)

When Tommy was still a kitten....
 (Pay back can be fun!)

Tabby Takes It On

Noir, the Notorious Tabby Tiger, (that's ME!) inspects his prey--
Tis why the photo of this warrior is a tad--well....fuzzy-
(Or Tommy just can't hold the camera still--you know how humans can be!)
The object of Notorious Tabby Tiger is a feline made of fabric--
A feline, bought by her Daddy when Tommy was a kitten of 8 years old Ya know, when dinosaurs roamed the Earth-.
If this feline of fabric could talk--the tales it weaves on Tommy...
This day tho, I nip its tail, for I AM, Noir the Notorious Tabby Tiger!
..and besides, the feline of fabric can't tell Mommy....

Tuesday Teach

"Mommy?"

"Yes, my baby Noir."

"Why do you and Tommy call me baby? I'm a MAN CAT!"

"Yes, dear, you try to make we don't forget!"
"So why you call me that?"

"Because Tommy and I remember when you were our baby!"

Mommy smiles so I know I can ask her.

"K. Why did you tell Earl Gray you would head bop me if I didn't let him blog?"

Mommy still smiles. "Because you ARE a man cat, but sometimes you' act like a kitten."

"Huh?"
"Kittens need to be told things a time or two. You are a man cat, Noir. And you needed to remember that too."

"You mean I gotta share the PC. Mommy?"
"Well, yes dear, with everybody-even Tommy."

"Tommy? She has her own blog--this is MINE!"

"Noir, Tommy feeds you. Puts a roof over head. Not all kitties have that."

I sighed. "Oh, all right. If I gotta."

"No, Noir you don't 'gotta,' you must want to. Man cats know right from wrong."

"They do, Mommy?"
Yes, like Perry who still doesn't like me 100%- let me share a window with him."

"Because Perry is a man cat?"

Mommy nodded. "And during International Box Day, you shared with your Uncle!"

"I did, Mommy?"

"Yes Noir, you did. All man cat even as you both played like kittens with the box!"
"WOW!"

"Now, come here Noir. You've learned a good lesson today."

"MOMMY! You're giving me a bath! You said I was a man cat!"

"Yes, you are. I'm proud of you, Noir. You're still my baby and I'm the Mommy."

"But Mommy! You said..."
"And I also say Noir, we're cats. And this is how we roll."

Tabby Turn

My Brother Earl Gray
He's not sleep, nor head in the food bowl
Brother had just flopped down in front of Tommy
Who was in midst of taking more blasted pictures!
Hmm.
Just wait until TOMORROW-I get Tommy back!
You'll see
Anyhoo, Brother Earl Gray flopped, stretched and
Then tried to do his best Olympic Tabby Turn
He stopped in mid action
No medal for him,
But Brother Earl is always gold in my book!

Friday For All

Me and Cranky Ol Sour Puss Perry
Who let me kinda close to him
Most of the time I don't know if the Sour Puss
Will jump me or just let me be
At this moment Perry has MY toy
You can kinda see it
Perry had his inner kitten going on
As he played with MY toy
He just watched me as he rolled in the blanket
And wouldn't give back MY toy.
Hmm.
Right after Tommy took this picture
I jumped down
Perry musta got bored too
And left MY toy on the bed
Then we watched Tommy do
That dance she does EVERY Friday
Had to make sure Tommy didn't fall and bust something
Before we got fed
Priorities.

Have a PURR-fect Friday!

January 12, 2009

Monday Marvels.

I'm Perry the Orange Tabby, or as I'd like to say: City Tiger. That kid, Noir-you know him: the gray and white striped one-says I'm cranky. What does HE know anyway? Some young buck cat kid who at this very moment bugs Tom (I call her Tom, not Tommy) to play fetch. She's busy right now. But the kid cat won't let her be. While he's driving Tom crazy I thought I'd get a few words in. To set the record straight. The kid says I'm OLD. GRRRRRRRRRRR.

The kid Noir doesn't get I've been with Tom since 2001--when I was just a kid. About four or five months then. Tom says it was October 2001 when we met. She was back in Iowa because her Daddy has just gone to Heaven. Tom was really sad. One morning, Tom says she opened her Daddy's backdoor to throw out corn for the squirrels and that's when saw a bundle of orange dart to it the corn: ME.

The next few days, Tom would sit outside after she brought me food. I would get close and she would talk to me. She said she sad, but I was still a little scared. But I would sit by her a little bit longer each day. Then one morning, I waited for her by the door. She came outside and I let her pick me up. I nosed her cheek and purred. I was happy and I wanted Tom to be happy. On our drive back to Dallas, I slept on Tom's shoulder. Turns out I gave her ringworm. Tom says she forgave me. She knew it was because I'd lived outside until she brought me in and after she realized her arm wouldn't fall off.

Tom told people I looked like a kitten she had a long time ago named Tiger Paw. She saw him one night and then not again. He had to be an outdoor cat, her mom said. That always made Toms sad. October 2001, with her Daddy gone to Heaven,to be with her mom, Tom always said her parents sent me to help her not be so sad. That's why I know we'll be together forever-even is this kid Noir and rest of em drive me NUTS. Tom's happy. I can put up with them for that!

And Tom's Daddy? Fun ol' guy he is. I like to catch the circles of smoke he puffs from his cigar.

Don't tell Tom.

My Favorite Thing

This little stuffed mouse (Tommy says she got it from somebody named Wal Mart) is my favorite thing to play with. It's on a piece of string where it can dangle and I can jump high to get it. Tommy says I'm crazy when I do that. I played so much with it, I pulled the string from the little stuffed mouse. So what to do? The toy wasn't as much fun to play fetch with Tommy or just play and drag it around the house without the string. I wonder what a real mouse tastes like? Tommy says she hopes we don't find out. That would mean mouses would be in the house and she'd scream. For my toy, Tommy wrapped the string around the little stuff mouse's neck. Tight. She swears this is the closet I'll get to a real one. Here's a picture of ME with my Uncle MaxMaxx. He's fat. In the middle is my little stuffed mouse with the string around his neck.

Meow!

Hello again fellow felines (especially Tuxedo Tabbies!) and our humans. Hope all of you are purr-fect!

I am.

Tommy just got home a little bit ago. Good to see her after being gone all day. ME and Mommy always meet here at the door. Then we go to our favorite spot on the carpet and scatch it. Tommy always says it's another confirmation she needs to put a different kind of floor in. Tommy still pet us all, stayed a few minutes and then left again. This was after she checked this cabinet in her kitchen. To see how much food we had, I'm sure.

Smart girl.

Then there was this election. Didn't know really what it was for. Didn't really know why Tommy was so excited about a family moving into some big old White House. Been reading online (when Tommy is gone) that the little girls moving there want a puppy. WHY? We cats could slip in and partake in all those fancy shmancy gatherings they have there (I've read up on that too!) More better than some dog. Cats purr. Dogs don't. To each her own.

And last, I said I would talk about my family. So here is a picture of ME and my Mommy. I was still a bitty baby when my bestest girl kissed me. Tommy entered this picture in some contest at her job. Got a lot of votes, she said, but didn't win. Tommy said that was fine, because she had the real thing at home. And that was prize enough.

Smart girl.
